Hello everyone,

First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you who have supported me and helped to send me to Nigeria for our medical mission's trip. I can happily say that it was a great success and a very enlightening experience. While we were there Christ was able to use us as vessels to draw HUNDREDS to dedicate their life to Christ. As a bonus we were able to see THOUSANDS of patients, treat various illnesses and provide 5 months of medical supplies. Although during the greater portion of the mission trip I was sick and forced to lie in the clinic for a while, I was able to participate in a few outreaches to a few High Schools, colleges, and a church. It was an amazing experience I will never forget. During Praise and Worship, everyone; Men, Women, Children, it didn't matter, were all standing up dancing and singing with all their might and just praising God for all that they have received. Even the smallest things which we consider miniscule, such as a new Keyboard to use to praise the Lord even more was very much appreciated!

Another thing which was outstanding was their reaction to our skits, namely “Everything” (a link to an example of this skit on GodTube is Lighthouse Everything ). With just the use of this one skit, so many lives were saved and drawn to Christ. Their reactions were a mixture of weeping and cheering. This one skit was able was able to powerfully communicate the huge amount of love our Lord has for us all, no matter what we have done in the past, no matter how far away we have fallen. They understood that he would always take us back and love us all the same.

With this Mission 's trip we were also able to minister and play with the Children of the orphanage at Otutulu Village where we were staying.. When we first arrived at the village, our van was rushed…just surrounded by all the children, each one of them with a huge smile on their face, just waiting to be carried and hugged. They so desperately want to be loved and cared for. As we climbed out of the van, all the children would grab for our empty hands or run up to our legs and just hold their arms up wanting to be carried. It didn't matter to them that we looked nothing like the others in the area, or that we weren't even from that part of the world. They just wanted to be loved. Nothing more than just holding their hands or carrying them. They were appeased by what we would think would be the simplest of things. For example, on our trip our youth ministry was able to collect of 500 pairs of Crocs (light weight, cheap, durable shoes) to give to the Aunties and Children at the orphanage. The look on their faces when they saw their new shoes is something I will never forget. Their faces lit up with a huge smile as they ran to the shoes to try and find their size. After finding the right pair they just ran to all of us and hugged us and got excited. Most of us would think, “what? It's just a pair of shoes”, but to these kids, shoes are something that they have never had before in their entire life. Just a quick fact as well, in Nigeria it is very dangerous to walk around without shoes due to the worms which will get into your feet, which will in turn cause you to be very sick and most likely will lead to death. Just to put it into perspective, buying a 5 dollar pair of shoes can lead to saving a life of a orphan in Nigeria .

Well, all in all, this trip was certainly a life changing trip, one which I will never forget. I pray I have another opportunity to go back and make a difference.

Once again, I thank you all for your prayers and support……… Daniel
