Jeremiah is a very sweet lost boy (to old for an auntie) who my daughter Morgan became very close to from the beginning. One day Jeremiah went to see the Dr. for a check-up. Morgan asked him how his appointment went, he said ok. She asked him what the Dr. said and he answered nothing. Jeremiah is a paraplegic and was brought to MOM orphanage due to his handicap. It was at this point that Morgan realized that due to the poverty most children are born into many have no hope of a better life. Although the children generally are happy it is sad to know that many will not have the opportunities that our children do in the USA . Morgan could not get herself together for several hours due to crying and not being able to do anything about the many sad things that we experienced.

Working in the medical clinics we experience many sad cases and many that cannot be helped. This year the hardest thing was for me to look in the face of mothers who could not produce enough milk for their babies and to see the babies literally starving to death and not have milk to give them for nourishment. This is definitely a ministry need that I pray will be funded by sponsors.

I told my daughter Morgan and her boyfriend Zack before we left for Nigeria that most of the children and babies are brought to MOM because their mother dies giving birth to them. The day we arrived I saw a new baby and asked Esther (Director's wife) about the baby and she told me that his mom died the day before during childbirth. I cried as I told them why the baby was there.

I am sure my sister Pam will share many stories about her praying with the patients after they received medical care. She and her translator were able to share Christ with hundreds of Nigerians, many not Christian. Everyone no matter what belief or religion was willing to listen to the plan of salvation and definitely wanted prayer. Several accepted the Lord as their Savior at that time. All were given gospel tracts and prayed with. Pam's comment about her time spent with the village people was "the harvest is ready in this area". PRAISE GOD!!

On a very hot afternoon and after working very hard in medical and multi-tasking through the day as we often did, I noticed a younger man causing trouble in the pharmacy area. I knew from the start what his problem was. He had been waiting to long. I automatically became agitated at his short fuse and would have liked to been able to share my feelings with him. Due to the language barrier there was no hope of that. I went to pharmacy and asked them if they had this man's prescriptions ready and they were working on it at the time. I went to my sister and told her there was an elderly man out at the gate who needed prayer. His grandson had just caused a problem and could she go and pray with him there. She couldn't and asked if I would do it. I definitely did not want to but knew there was no one else to do it. I went out there with Moses the translator, and he presented the gospel to this what seemed to be ninety year old man. He looked dressed like a Muslim. The gentleman told us he had no faith. I asked Moses to ask him if he was ready to accept the Lord as his Savior and he said yes. I was able to pray with this man and lead him to Christ with the help of Moses translating for me. PRAISE THE LORD!!

The Lord has to go great lengths many times to get my attention. "Lord forgive me for my shortcomings".
